Dubuque-The Catholic Archdiocese of Dubuque released information on Saturday of the restructuring of parishes in the 30 counties that make up the church for its over 180 thousand parishioners. Archbishop Thomas Zinkula said this is part of the Journey in Faith process that has been underway for over a year. Meeting have been held in parishes to gather input from members from parishioners. Reasons for these meetings is due to a drop in attendance at the churches and the number of priests available is falling. After much discussion. parishioners in Hamilton, Hardin and Wright will be a part of the Webster CityArea Pastorate of parishes beginning in mid-July. This change will impact 3,112 parishioners of the respective churches in the Webster City Pastorate of Catholic churches in the archdiocese. The following will offer weekend masses effective the weekend of July 18 and 19. St. Thomas Aquinas in Webster City with two masses each weekend. St. John’s Catholic in Clarion with a mass in English and one in Spanish. St. Mark’s in Iowa Falls with two masses and St. Mary’s in Eldora with one mass. There will be no weekend services at Sacred Heart of Eagle Grove, St. Franis Xavier in Belmond, St. Mary Parish in Ackley and St. Mary’s in Williams.
