JEFFERSON, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norsemen volleyball team returned to the court on Thursday evening, as they made the trip west on Highway 30 to take on the Greene County Rams and Ames Little Cyclones in a tri-match at Greene County High School. Roland-Story entered at 8-1 and ranked #9 in Class 3A, Greene County entered at 2-1, while Ames entered at 6-5.
Roland-Story would take care of business quickly against the Rams in a non-conference, 3-set match, with the Norsemen winning 2-0 with sets of 25-14 and 25-16. The Norsemen then capped their night with a 2-0 sweep of 5A Ames with sets of 25-18 and 25-12 as Roland-Story improved to 10-1 on the year.
Stats were not available on Bound as of Friday morning, although Roland-Story senior Brookelyn Jondle surpassed 1,000 career kills during the match with Ames on Thursday night.
Roland-Story volleyball returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Monroe for a Heart of Iowa Conference tri with PCM and South Hamilton at PCM High School, beginning at 5 PM on 95.7 KQWC or streaming online at kqradio.com.
