Webster City volleyball falls at (3A) #1 Humboldt, 3-0

HUMBOLDT, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they made the trip into Humboldt County to take on their longtime rivals in the Humboldt Wildcats in North Central Conference action at Humboldt High School. Webster City entered Thursday with a record of 7-2, while Humboldt entered at 6-0 and ranked #1 in Class 3A.

Humboldt was able to shellshock Webster City early as the Wildcats led by as much as 8 in the opening set, but the Lynx would get their footing later on as Humboldt took the opener 25-16. Webster City would make a strong push in set 2, leading the Wildcats at the halfway point 15-13, but Humboldt would rally to down the Lynx 25-19 in set 2, before bringing home a 25-14 win in set 3 to cap the 3-0 sweep.

The Ace Hardware of Webster City Ace of the Game was Lynx senior Tristyn Wright, who finished with 4 kills and 2 aces, as Evie Davis and Allison Arends both also had 4 kills for the Lynx. Adelynn Goodell led Humboldt with 14 kills.

Webster City volleyball returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Clarion for an NCC quad at CGD High School, with first serve at 5 PM.
