Webster City-The next Webster City City Council meeting will be Tuesday evening, September 8th at 6:00 in the city council chambers on Second Street. The meeting has been moved to this Tuesday evening due to the Monday Labor Day holiday in which the Municipal Building will be closed for the day. A public hearing on the water main extension project at Mary Ann’s Specialty Foods on East Second Street will be held at 6:05 Tuesday evening. The council is expected to award the contract to Riley-Armstrong Plumbing and Heating in the amount of $325,728.04 for their work on the Mary Ann’s Water Main Extension Project. The first reading of an ordinance for the adoption of Public Improvement Standards will be presented to the council. A resolution authorizing the Internal Advance for Funding of the Urban Renewal Projects in the Webster City Riverview Urban Renewal Area will be discussed. There will be a proclamation for Doodlebug Week set for September 14th to 19th to mark the 40th anniversary of the celebration of the gas-powered scooter manufactured by Beam Manufacturing in the late 1940s. A request from the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish for closing Des Moines Street between Bank and Water Streets for a Car Show on October 10th will be considered. The Webster City City Council will meet in closed session this Tuesday to discuss the purchase or sale of particular real estate.
