Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies investigate two accidents in the county this week.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department investigated an accident involving a semi trailer east of Webster City on Hamilton County Roads D-20 and R-38 at 9:21 this (Wednesday) morning. Reportedly an eastbound 2021 Freightliner Conventional semi operated by Steven S. Head of Charles City was making a north turn onto R-38. The report stated that the semi driven by Head was traveling at a speed too fast to safely navigate the turn thus causing the load of livestock to shift in the trailer with the semi overturning and coming to rest on the passenger side. The semi was owned by Arends Transport LLC of Cedar Falls and Iowa Select Farms of Iowa Falls. The driver escaped injury in the accident. Damage to the semi trailer was estimated at $25,000. Investigating deputy Rod Hickok cited Steven Head with Failure to Maintain Control.
Details of a late Monday morning accident northwest of Stratford in the 3300 block of Shiloh Road was released on Wednesday by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department. Reportedly a 2008 Dodge R-1500 pickup truck being driven by Alison D. Theeler of Webster City with the truck owned by Joshua Swanson of Webster City was traveling westbound on Shiloh Road when the truck landed on its wheels in a nearby ditch. When investigating chief deputy Gary Johnson arrived at the accident scene, the three occupants inside the truck were being looked at by the Stratford Fire and Rescue EMS personnel. One of the passengers 17 year old Saffron Carroll of Stratford was transported to Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City by Stratford ambulance for treatment of an abrasion and shoulder pain. Theeler and a backseat passenger were going by personnel vehicle to be checked out at hospitals for treatment. Deputy Johnson estimated the damage to the pickup owned by Swanson at $10,000
