Motorists are advised of certain street closings in Webster City Tuesday evening due to fair parade.

This week marks the start of the Hamilton County Fair, that means the annual Fair Parade is quickly approaching. The Webster City Police Department wants everyone to have a fun Fair and Fair Parade experience and are reminding everyone to be ready for an increase in pedestrian and vehicle traffic throughout the community.
On Tuesday July 25 the Hamilton County Fair Parade will start at 6:00 PM. The parade route will be the same as previous years and start on Prospect Street by the Middle School and travel north to Second Street. Once on Second Street the parade will continue east to Superior Street where it was turn south onto Superior Street. When the parade reaches Bank Street by the Fire Station it will travel east to Bluff Street where it will turn into the Hamilton County Fair Grounds. This will create several road closures along the route to ensure the safety of both the participants and observers. Please be alert to your surroundings and exercise patience in the downtown area.
Part of the annual parade is the staging areas for floats. The staging areas are on residential streets from Elm Street to Webster Street between Grove Street and Des Moines Street. This area may become congested for vehicle travel. Please be aware of possible congestion and an increase in pedestrian traffic.
Officers will be out monitoring the parade route and staging areas. Members of the Webster City Street Department will be assisting with barricading streets and providing traffic control along the parade route. We are asking for the public’s patience during this time.
