Webster City Community Theatre is delighted to present the holiday classic, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Performances are scheduled for November 19 at 7 pm, November 20 at 2 pm and 7 pm and November 21 at 2 pm. Tickets are $5 for kids 12 and under and $12 for all others.
The struggle of putting on the annual church Christmas pageant falls on Grace and Bob Bradley when Mrs. Armstrong breaks her leg and can’t directs the pageant, run the potluck supper, and chair the bazaar.
The Bradley’s are faced with the Herdman kids—“the worst kids in the history of the world”—who volunteer for all the major roles in the pageant. Their take on what happened in the stable in Bethlehem will help prepare you for the Christmas season.
This is the fifth time WCCT has performed this show. Previous productions occurred in 1995, 1998, 2006 and 2013. It is an added bonus to have alumni from those shows involved in this show. In some cases, they have brought their children along to make this a multi-generational cast. They have been under the direction of Al Yungclas assisted by Stephanie Hill. Karin Yungclas is the production manager.
Derek Krieger, Libby Anderson, Alivia Hector and Ben Barner fill the Bradley family roles of Bob and Grace, daughter Beth and son Charlie. Stepping into the pageant roles are the Herdman kids: Aidan Hanson as Ralph, Averi Arganbright as Imogene, Max Anderson as Leroy, Bryce Hrnicek as Claude, Owen Gallentine as Ollie, and Hallie Anderson as Gladys. Beth’s friends Alice and Maxine are portrayed by Emersen Paukert and Kaitlynn VanDemark respectively.
No church production is complete without the ladies of the church–Mrs. Armstrong, Mrs. Slocum, Mrs. Clark, and Mrs. McCarthy, played by Rosine Kennedy, Marta Paukert, Stephanie Hill, and Sarah Kopriva. McKinley Bailey is cast as Reverend Hopkins.
Rounding out the cast are the shepherds Owen Anderson and Shelby Coate. Appearing as angels are Amielia Lindsey, Ashlee Tinoco, Florencia Bailey, Kyla VanDemark, Grace Barner, Baylee Humlicek, Leena Humlicek, and Elizazbeth VanDemark. Doug Bailey joins son McKinley as the brave firemen.
