South Hamilton softball falls at home to (3A) #8 PCM, 7-0

JEWELL, Ia. — The South Hamilton Hawks softball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they hosted the PCM Mustangs in Heart of Iowa Conference action at the Mike Penning Athletic Complex. South Hamilton entered at 0-5, while PCM entered at 4-2 and ranked #8 in Class 3A.

South Hamilton would hold their own against the top-1o Mustangs, with the game scoreless after 2 innings, as PCM put up 2 runs in the 3rd, a run in the 4th and 5th each, followed by 3 runs in the 7th to punctuate a 7-0 victory.

Emma Lammers was charged with the loss, pitching the complete game and allowing 7 runs (5 earned) on 11 hits and striking out 3. Ellie Beaune went 2-for-3 on the night and Adey Trask went 1-for-3.

South Hamilton softball returns to action on Friday, when they travel to Perry to take on the Jayettes in Heart of Iowa Conference action, with first pitch at 7:30 PM.
