South Hamilton baseball falls in home HOIAC matchup with PCM, 17-1

JEWELL, Ia. — The South Hamilton Hawks baseball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they hosted the PCM Mustangs in Heart of Iowa Conference action at the Mike Penning Athletic Complex. South Hamilton entered at 0-4, as PCM entered at 4-1.

PCM would get out of the gates quick with a run in the 1st, 3 runs in the 2nd and six runs in the 3rd to take a 10-0 lead, as South Hamilton scored in the bottom of the 3rd on a Liam Ealy RBI single to make it 10-1. However, PCM furthered their lead in the 4th with 7 runs, en route to capturing a 17-1, 4-inning victory.

Jackson Olmstead was charged with the loss, going 2.2 innings and allowing 10 runs (5 earned) on 3 hits and striking out 2. Olmstead also went 1-for-2 at the plate, as Liam Ealy went 1-for-2 with an RBI single.

South Hamilton baseball returns to action on Friday, when they travel to Perry to take on the Bluejays in Heart of Iowa Conference action, with first pitch at 7:30 PM.
