Webster City baseball remains unbeaten over Storm Lake, 13-0

WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx baseball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the Storm Lake Tornadoes in non-conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 9-0, while Storm Lake entered at 4-2.

Webster City would not waste time in gaining the upper hand, putting up 3 runs in the first on an Aiden Hrnicek bases-clearing double as the Lynx took a 3-0 lead. The Lynx added a run on a bases-loaded walk in the 2nd, followed by an explosive, 6-run inning behind a wild pitch, a Jaxon Griffith RBI single, a Matt Tesdahl RBI single, and back-to-back, bases-loaded walks to put Webster City up 10-0. Webster City added onto their lead in the 4th with a Jaxon Griffith RBI double, a Braylon Dyvig RBI single and a wild pitch, capping a 13-0, 5-inning victory.

Alex Staley was the winning pitcher, throwing a 5-inning no-hitter, striking out 6 and walking 7. Aiden Hrnicek went 1-for-1 with a double and 4 RBI, while Jaxon Griffith went 2-for-3 with a double, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored.

Webster City baseball returns to action Wednesday afternoon, as they travel to Des Moines to take on the South Hardin Tigers in non-conference action at Principal Park, with first pitch at 3:30 PM on 95.7 KQWC or online at kqradio.com.
