Webster City- Webster City’s weather for May ended with near normal temperatures and below normal precipitation. Weather records at the KQWC-KZWC Radio Hill weather reporting station showed the average high temperature for May came in at 73 degrees with an average low temperature of 45 degrees for the month. The normal high for May is at 71 degrees. The warmest temperature for the month was 89 degrees set the afternoon of May 27th with the lowest recorded temperature set at 32 degrees set the morning of May 2nd.
As for precipitation, Webster City received 2.27 inches of rainfall for the month of May. Normal rainfall for May is 4.60 inches of precipitation. We had periods of active weather for May with severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings for Hamilton County on May 15th and May 17th. There were reports of downed limbs with the high winds in the storms.
The National Weather Service outlook for Iowa for June indicates a month of above normal temperatures and equal chances for precipitation. Last June in Webster City, the average high temperature was 81 degrees with the average low at 60 degrees. There was 8.40 inches of rainfall measured in June of 2025.
The meteorological summer officially begins today on June 1st for Iowa. The Climate Prediction Center is predicting equal chances for temperatures but below normal precipitation from now until the end of August.
