Eagle Grove softball shuts out Belmond-Klemme in pitchers duel, 2-0

BELMOND, Ia. — The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Friday evening, as they made the trip across Wright County to take on the Belmond-Klemme Broncos in Top of Iowa West action at Belmond-Klemme High School. Eagle Grove entered at 3-2, while Belmond-Klemme entered at 2-0.

It would be a scoreless first inning, before the Eagles got on the board in the 2nd on a Crystal Flores-Baez RBI single to put the Eagles up 1-0. Eagle Grove added onto their lead in the 3rd with a Brenna Grandgeorge RBI single that scored Ellie Lenning to put the Eagles up 2-0. 2 runs is all the Eagles need, as left-hander Mya Morgan mowed down the Broncos lineup in a 2-0 victory.

Mya Morgan pitched the complete game, allowing no runs on 5 hits and striking out 10. Crystal Flores went 1-for-3 with an RBI single, while Brenna Grandgeorge went 1-for-3 with an RBI single.

Eagle Grove softball returns to action on Monday evening, when they host the Bishop Garrigan Golden Bears in Top of Iowa West action at Greenwood Park, with first pitch at 6 PM.
