February unemployment rate for Hamilton County was at 2.8 person.

The Iowa Workforce Development office announced on Wednesday that the February unemployment rate for Hamilton County was at 2.8 percent. This was down from the January figure at 2.9 percent.  There were 7,520 Hamilton County residents on the job in February while 210 were unemployed for the month. The unemployment rates for surrounding counties showed Boone and Wright Counties both at 2.9 percent, Franklin County at 3.9 percent, Hardin County at 3.1 percent, Story County at an even 3 percent and Webster County at 3.6 percent. Iowa’s February rate remained the same as the January rate of 3.4 percent. There were 1,741,300 people employed in February with 58,700 people being unemployed.
