DIKE, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx girls track and field team returned to action on Thursday night, as they made the trip east on Highway 20 to compete in the Lady Wolverine Invitational at Dike-New Hartford High School. The Lynx were joined by the host Wolverines, as well as AGWSR, Aplington-Parkersburg, Denver, Don Bosco, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Hudson, Iowa Falls-Alden, Janesville, Jesup, North Tama, South Hardin, Starmont, West Marshall and Wapsie Valley.
Webster City placed 2nd in the meet with a total of 83 points on Thursday night, as the Lynx lone meet champion was junior Izzy Grossoehme, who won the 400m dash in a time of 1:00.51, while also placing 2nd in the 200m dash in a time of 26.90 seconds. Amanda Lahr would place 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 35′ 5.5″, as Jakaela Cherry placed 2nd in the discus with a throw of 109′ 2″, while placing 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 33′ 5″. Webster City’s sprint medley would place 2nd in a time of 1:52.02 with the team of Hartnett-Weinschenk-Hansen-Grossoehme, as the 4×100 placed 4th in a time of 51.77 seconds with the team of Hartnett-Hansen-Weinschenk-Grossoehme.
