Roland-Story and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys golf competes in non-con tri in Story City

STORY CITY, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norsemen and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys golf teams returned to action on Thursday afternoon, as they competed in a tri-meet at River Bend Golf Course in Story City. The Norsemen and Cowboys were joined by the Saydel Eagles in the meet.

Roland-Story emerged as the meet champions with a team score of 158 (+14), as juniors Jake Knoll and Ryan Fisher tied for the meet medalist, as both shot a 38 (+2). Hayden Eslick and Wyatt Ramus would both tie for 3rd as each shot a 41 (+5) to round out varsity scoring. Other competitors for the Norsemen saw Tucker Hawkins and Hayden Janssen each shoot a 48 (+12).

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows placed 3rd in the meet with a team score of 217 (+73), as their top placers were Preston Gniadecki and Caleb Sweeney, who each shot a 53 (+17). Mason Warnke would shoot a 55 (+19), as Nathan Kakacek shot a 56 (+20). Other competitors saw Roy Hoang shoot a 56 (+20) as Madden Johnson shot a 66 (+30).

Roland-Story boys golf returns to action on Tuesday, as they host a tournament at River Bend Golf Course in Story City beginning at 2 PM. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys golf returns to action on Monday, when they travel to Gowrie to take on Southeast Valley, beginning at 4 PM.
