Webster City boys soccer shuts out Hampton-Dumont-CAL, 1-0

HAMPTON, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx boys soccer team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip into Franklin County to take on the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Hampton-Dumont-CAL High School. The Lynx entered at 1-0-1, as the Bulldogs entered at 1-0-2.

The first 40 minutes of Monday’s game would be ruled by defense, as the score would be knotted up at 0-0 at the halftime break. However, Webster City finally broke through in the 2nd half on a goal in the 45th minute from Abisai Ramirez Carmona, with an assist from Aaron Mendoza, to put Webster City ahead 1-0. From there, the Lynx defense squeezed the life out of the Bulldogs to come away with a 1-0 victory.

Ramirez Carmona had the lone Lynx goal on 4 shots, as Aaron Mendoza assisted. Edwin Ramos Nolasco recorded 6 saves in the victory for the Lynx.

Webster City boys soccer returns to action on Thursday, as they travel to Clear Lake to take on the Lions in North Central Conference action with kickoff at 5:30 PM.
