Webster City girls soccer routs Hampton-Dumont-CAL on Monday, 9-1

WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx girls soccer team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Lynx Field in Webster City. The Lynx entered at 1-2, while the Bulldogs entered at 0-2.

It would be a rout from the outset for Webster City, as the Lynx put up 5 goals in the first half to take a 5-0 lead. Hampton-Dumont-CAL would get on the board in the 2nd half, but Webster City put on 4 more goals in the frame to settle a 9-1 demolition.

Senior Janey Putney led the Lynx with 4 goals, as junior Sandra Fuentes-Cruz had a hat trick of her own with 3 goals. Senior Jayme Perez would add 2 goals herself, while also tallying 2 assists. Fellow senior Julia Griep led the Lynx with 3 assists, as goalkeeper Kate Feltz recorded 6 saves.

Webster City girls soccer returns to action on Thursday, as they host the Clear Lake Lions in North Central Conference action at Lynx Field with kickoff at 5:30 PM.
