Eagle Grove boys track competes at Dodger Relays in Fort Dodge

FORT DODGE, Ia. — The Eagle Grove Eagles boys track and field team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the short trek to Fort Dodge to compete in the annual Dodger Relays at Dodger Stadium. The Eagles were joined by the host Dodgers, as well as Dallas Center-Grimes, Humboldt, Marshalltown, Mason City, St. Edmond and Waukee Northwest.

Eagle Grove placed 6th with 44.5 points on Monday, as their top placer was senior Leelan Spencer, who placed 3rd in the 100m dash in a time of 11.90 seconds. The Eagles 4×200 placed 4th in a time of 1:39.02 with the team of Eisentrager-Vasquez-Sisson-Spencer, while the 4×400 also placed 4th in a time of 3:47.97 with the team of Pedersen-Gonzalez-Eisentrager-Vasquez. The Eagles shuttle hurdle placed 5th in a time of 1:16.59 with the quartet of Reyna Salazar-C. Schafer-Bedford-Pedersen, as Gavin Pedersen placed 6th in the discus with a throw of 129′ 8″, a season-best.

Eagle Grove boys track and field returns to action next Tuesday, as they compete at the Lynx Invitational at Bob Buckley Track in Webster City, beginning at 4:30 PM.
