GOWRIE, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx and Roland-Story Norsemen boys track and field teams returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip to southern Webster County to compete in the Southeast Valley Invitational in Gowrie. The Lynx and Norsemen were joined by the host Jaguars, as well as Gilbert, Glidden-Ralston, GTRA, Madrid, Manson-Northwest Webster, Ogden, Paton-Churdan, Pocahontas Area and West Bend-Mallard.
Roland-Story placed 2nd in the meet with 115 points and crowned a pair of winners, the first being Jayden Strum in the 110m high hurdles, winning in a time of 15.44 seconds. Tristen Crabbs then won the 200m dash in a time of 22.66 seconds. The Norsemen picked up a number of runner-up finishes, as Cody Long was 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 21′ 3.5″, while the sprint medley was runner-up in 1:39.46 with the team of Triggs-Long-Billerbeck-Thoreson. The 4×800 placed 2nd in a time of 9:10.79 with the team of Lucchesi-Dahlsten-Healy-Willis, as the shuttle hurdle placed 2nd in a time of 1:07.86 with the team of Jonas-Long-Barber-Strum. Myles McIlrath would then place 2nd in the 400m dash in a time of 54.95 seconds.

Webster City placed 3rd with 99.5 points and claimed a handful of winners, as Beau Nohrenberg won the shot put with a season-best throw of 46′ 7″, as the Lynx’s sprint medley won in a meet-record time of 1:35.71 with the team of Griffith-Hansen-Stroner-Callahan. Justin Callahan then won the 800m run in a time of 2:02.86, as Daniel Murillo-Delfin placed 2nd in a time of 2:09.56. Rylan Stroner would place 2nd in the 200m dash in a time of 23.25, as Jack Barner was 2nd in the 3200m run in a time of 11:36.54.
Webster City and Roland-Story boys track and field return to action on Thursday, when they compete in the Saydel Invitational at Saydel High School in Des Moines, beginning at 4:30 PM.
