VDMC Seeks Nominations for 2026 DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa | Van Diest Medical Center (VDMC) is now accepting nominations for the 2026 DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, an international recognition program that honors the compassionate care nurses provide to patients, families, and colleagues every day.

At VDMC, extraordinary nursing is often found in the quiet, meaningful moments—when a nurse takes extra time to listen, offers comfort during uncertainty, or provides reassurance with both clinical expertise and genuine compassion.

“These small acts of care don’t feel small to the people who receive them,” said Lisa Ridge, RN, MSN, CEO of Van Diest Medical Center. “They create lasting impact for patients and families, and they inspire our teams to continue delivering the highest level of care.”

The DAISY Award is part of a nationwide program that celebrates nurses who go above and beyond in their roles, demonstrating clinical skill, compassion, and a deep commitment to the well-being of others. VDMC will honor the nominated nurses on Wednesday, May 6, which is National Nurses Day.

Nominations for the 2026 DAISY Award will be accepted through April 24.
