Webster City girls track and field competes at Ram Early Bird in Jefferson

JEFFERSON, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx girls track and field team returned to action on Friday, as they competed in the Ram Early Bird Track Meet at Linduska Field in Jefferson. The Lynx were joined by the hosts Greene County, as well as CAM, Earlham, East Sac County, Forest City, Madrid, Manson-Northwest Webster, Ogden, Panorama, Paton-Churdan, Southeast Valley and St. Edmond.

Webster City would place 10th with 70 points, as the top placer for the Lynx was junior Izzy Grossoehme, who placed 2nd in the 200m dash in a time of 27.31. Amanda Lahr placed 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 35′ 7.25″, as the sprint medley placed 2nd in a time of 1:52.60 with the team of Hartnett-Weinschenk-Hansen-Grossoehme. Tessa Hansen would place 3rd in the long jump with a mark of 14′ 5.5″, as the 4×100 placed 4th in a time of 53.11 seconds with the team of Hartnett-Weinschenk-Wright-Grossoehme.
