Webster City boys golf places 2nd in Kuemper Catholic tri on Friday

CARROLL, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx boys golf team opened their 2026 season on Friday afternoon, as they competed in a non-conference tri-meet at the Carroll National Golf Club in Carroll. The Lynx were joined by the host Kuemper Catholic Knights, as well as the Panorama Panthers.

Webster City placed 2nd in the meet with a 158, as senior Dawson Bertran had the top score, shooting a 38 (+2) on the day, as sophomore Joel Kasch shot a 39 (+3), shooting an 18 on the last 5 holes, including a birdie on 16. Sophomore Logan Willson placed 8th by shooting a 40 (+4), as senior Matt Tesdahl rounded out scoring by shooting a 41 (+5).

Kuemper Catholic won the meet with a score of 146, as Braxton Vonnahme won the individual portion by shooting a 32 (-4).

Webster City boys golf returns to action on Thursday, when they compete in the Woodward-Granger 18-Hole Tournament at the Woodward Golf and Country Club, beginning at 9 AM.
