Ellsworth City Council holds a public hearing on water storage tank project.

There were no objections received in the public hearing on the water storage tank project for Ellsworth. After much discussion concerning the timing of the bid letting, it was revealed the current proposed project for the 200,000-gallon water tank project ineligible for a Community Development Block Grant and possible fiscal impact. The vote was 4 to 0 in favor of the resolution.

The Ellsworth City Council Tuesday evening met with representatives of JT Remodeling, Beaver Builders Construction and Empire Realty of Boone as a small, personal and eager group willing to converse with the city on many aspects of the current housing shortage and needs in Ellsworth. Pastor Jon Rollefson of Trinity Lutheran Church of Ellsworth met with the council on an upcoming human trafficking awareness event hosted by the church set for Tuesday,April 7th at 7:00 p.m.

In other matters Tuesday evening, the Ellsworth City Council approved use for the 2026 season of the Ellsworth Ballfield by the South Hamilton program for baseball and T-ball. A request from the Ellsworth Kickball Club utilizing the Ellsworth ballfield for a kid’s kickball program on Saturdays from 3 until 5 p.m. during the summer months was approved as long as there are no conflicts with the baseball or T-ball schedules this summer. The date of April 28th at 6:00 p.m. was set for Ellsworth’s Fiscal Year 2027 Budget Adoption hearing.
