Roland-Story girls golf has record-setting day against Ogden

The Roland-Story Norsemen girls golf team returned to action on Friday afternoon, as they welcomed in the Ogden Bulldogs for a dual meet at River Bend Golf Course in Story City of senior day.

It would be a record-setting day for the Norsemen on the course, as they would break the school-record for lowest team score, shooting a 165 (+21). Sophomore Brinley Carlson would lead the charge, as she herself set a new school-record with a 9-hole score of 37 (+1). Her sister, Makenna Carlson, would shoot a 40 (+4), while Grace Corcoran followed up with a 43 (+7) and Brooke Thompson had a 45 (+9) to round out varsity scoring.

Jenna Birkland would shoot a 49 (+13), Gabriella Wakefield shot a 50 (+14) and Abby Cook would shoot a 52 (+16) to round out the varsity lineup. Ogden would shoot a 227 (+83) as a team, with their top scorer in junior Meredith Kruse, who shot a 53 (+17).

Roland-Story returns to action on Monday, when they compete in a quad meet at Terrace Hills Golf Course, hosted by Bondurant-Farrar.
