WEBSTER CITY — Webster City Community Theatre has announced the cast for its upcoming production of The Roommate, a sharp, funny and surprising two-woman play by Jen Silverman.
Amelia Oliver will portray Robyn, a mysterious newcomer looking for a fresh start, while Leah Mason will take on the role of Sharon, a recently divorced Iowa woman whose quiet and predictable life is about to change dramatically.
Performances are scheduled for Nov. 5-8 at Webster City Community Theatre, 1001 Willson Ave., Webster City. Ticket information and additional production details will be announced in the coming weeks.
Set in Iowa City, The Roommate introduces audiences to Sharon, a woman who decides to take in a roommate after her divorce. Enter Robyn, who arrives from New York with a very different outlook on life — and more than a few secrets.
Blending humor with some decidedly darker twists, The Roommate explores friendship, identity, aging and reinvention — and the sometimes unpredictable consequences of deciding it is never too late to change direction.
The WCCT production is directed by Anne Blankenship, with KeVon Edwards serving as assistant director and stage manager.
