Jewell-Another Jewell City Council meeting is set for 7:00 p.m. this (Monday) evening in the Jewell City Hall. One of the items for consideration of the work on the Jewell City Pool by Burbach Aquatics for the second and third phases of the project. The city of Jewell received a $675,00 Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) Grant on September 18th for the work on improvements to the pool that was built in 1964. The council will be updated on the property at 521 Johnson Street and nuisance abatements. In another matter, the council will consider the possible abandonments of Fifth Street with a recommendation from the Jewell Planning and Zoning Committee and setting a public hearing on the abandonment.
In another matter, the Jewell City Council will look at the engagement letter from Speer Financial for the Lagoon project and to discuss urban renewal and TIF zones for Jewell plus other matters.
