STORY CITY, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norse volleyball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they hosted the Saydel Eagles in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Roland-Story High School. The Norse entered at 14-3 and ranked #10 in Class 3A, while Saydel entered at 2-11.
It would be all Norse from the word “go” on Thursday, as Roland-Story won the opening set 25-11, before dominating the 2nd set 25-10 to take a 2-0 lead. Saydel would get a little more offense generated in the 3rd set, but was not nearly enough in a 25-15 win for the Norse and 3-0 sweep.
Maddi Lucas led the Norse with 6 kills and 3 blocks, while Brookelyn Jondle had 5 kills and recorded her 1,000th career dig in the match. Miley Geise, Emma Truesdell and Charlotte Schaben all added 4 kills each as well.
Roland-Story volleyball returns to action on Saturday, when they travel to the Cedar Valley to compete at the Dike-New Hartford Tournament at Dike-New Hartford High School, beginning at 9 AM.
