Webster City- There will be a major renovation project coming to Webster City High School starting by the middle part of 2027. Voters in Hamilton and Wright Counties approved the $43.4 million project in Tuesday’s voting at the Ed Prince Building. This will mean
- An increase of 57 cents per $1,000 of taxable value (raising the levy from 77 cents to $1.34) starting in fiscal year 2028.
- Extending the existing levy period through fiscal year 2041.
- All three public measures passed….Public Measure JC was approved 831 yes to 548 no
- Public Measure JD was approved 793 yes to 586 voting no.
- Public Measure JE was approved by the vote of 853 yes compared to 529 voting no.
- The renovation will mean a new HVAC system for the Webster City High School. It will also address accessibility issues, expanding the classrooms at the High School and increased security to the structure.
- Plans for the high school renovation would begin by either next spring or summer for the 65 plus year old school on Lynx Avenue with the completion by 2029. A canvas of the votes by the Hamilton County Supervisors will take place in the next few weeks
