Boone- The Iowa State Patrol investigated a two-vehicle accident late Tuesday morning at Highway 30 and Corporal Snedden Drive in Boone that injured the driver and killed a passenger. Reportedly a southbound 2014 model Kia Soul SUV driven by Kevin Johnson of Boone failed to stop and yield to through traffic and was struck by a westbound 2022 model Chevrolet Silverado K2500 pickup truck operated by Salvador Cervantes of Loomis, Washington.Both Kevin Johnson and a passenger,71-year-old Barbara Johnson also of Boone were transported to Iowa Methodist Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. Barbara Johnson died of her injuries on Wednesday. Cervantes escaped injury in the accident. The Boone Police Department assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the accident scene.
