Eagle Grove-Rylee Pals of Belmond was crowned Tuesday evening as the 2026 Wright County Fair Queen during a ceremony at the Greenwood Park. The event marked the opening night for the fair that continues through Sunday,July 12th. The fair princess crowned Tuesday night was Marlee Thompson. The other contestants participating this year included Harley Charlson, Jadyn Jass, Marlee Thompson, Azure Wessels and Kali Wharton. Pals will represent Wright County at the Iowa State Fair competition in Des Moines next month on August 15th.
The fair queen competition was one of the opening night activities of the fair. The annual parade through the Eagle Grove business district kicked off the exposition with floats, emergency vehicles, classic cars and farm machinery arriving at Greenwood Park followed by a free watermelon feed. There will be a wide range of activities. through July 13th. A few of the highlights includes a tribute to the Wright County Veterans, a hamburger feed, the midway with its rides for kids of all ages.
