Webster City- The Iowa State Patrol Thursday morning released the names of the two victims of the two-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of Highway 20 near Webster City at noon on Wednesday. The victims are identified as 69-year-old Joseph Kennedy of Alden and 40-year-old Aaron Scott Gomez of Harlingen, Texas. Reportedly an eastbound 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup operated by Joseph Kennedy was in the westbound lane of Highway 20 when his pickup struck a westbound 2020 Ram 1500 pickup driven by Aaron Gomez. The Kennedy pickup came to rest on the median of the highway while the Gomez pickup came to rest on the outside shoulder of the highway. Kennedy was pronounced dead at the accident scene on Wednesday while Gomez was pronounced dead at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City. The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol, Hamilton County Sheriffs Office, Webster City Police and Fire Departments.
