EAGLE GROVE, Ia. — The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they hosted the North Iowa Bison in Top of Iowa West action at Greenwood Park. Eagle Grove entered at 15-11, while North Iowa entered at 1-16.
Eagle Grove would open scoring 4 runs in the 1st, only to be answered by a run in the bottom of the frame from North Iowa as the Eagles lead 4-1. Following a scoreless 2nd, Eagle Grove blasted the doors open with a 17-run top of the 3rd to take a 21-2 lead after 3. The Eagles would add a run in the 4th to cap a 22-2 victory.
Johanna Flores-Baez was the winning pitcher, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 1 hit and striking out 4. Holly Anderson would go 1-for-2 with a home run and 4 RBI, while Addy Pamperin went 1-for-2 with her first career home run and 3 RBI.
Eagle Grove softball returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Webster City to take on the Lynx in non-conference action at Webster City High School, with first pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.7 KQWC or streaming online at kqradio.com.
