JEFFERSON, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norsemen baseball team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip west to take on the Greene County Rams in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Allensworth Field. Roland-Story entered with a record of 24-1 and ranked #2 in Class 2A, while Greene County entered at 2-13.
Following a scoreless first, Roland-Story took the lead in the 2nd on a Braden Wallace RBI double to take a 1-0 lead, as the Norsemen added 2 more runs in the 3rd on a Cael Faber RBI groundout and a Colin Willis RBI single as Roland-Story went ahead 3-0. That 3-0 lead lasted until the 7th, when the Norsemen added onto the lead with a Chance Georgius sac fly and a Jake Knoll 2-run RBI single to eventually cap a 6-0 victory.
Wyatt Ramus was the winning pitcher, pitching a complete game, 2-hit shut out while striking out 7 on just 77 pitches. Jake Knoll went 1-for-4 with 2 RBI, while Braden Wallace was 1-for-4 with an RBI double.
Roland-Story baseball returns to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Des Moines to take on the Grand View Christian Thunder at Hoover High School, with first pitch at 5 PM.
