STORY CITY, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norsemen baseball team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the Greene County Rams in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Norsemen Field in Story City. Roland-Story entered at 11-0 and ranked #2 in Class 2A, while Greene County entered at 0-3.
Roland-Story was able to score early, as the Norse plated a run on a Cael Faber RBI groundout in the first to take a 1-0 lead. The Norsemen then plated 3 runs in the 3rd on 2 wild pitches, as well as a Chance Georgius RBI single, followed by 5 more runs in the 5th off an Aiden Frey RBI double, a wild pitch, a 2nd wild pitch, a Braden Wallace RBI double and a Reece Blaisdell sac fly to Roland-Story up 9-0. The Norsemen would walk things off in the 6th with an error that brought the final to 10-0 Roland-Story.
Wyatt Ramus was the winning pitcher, pitching 6 innings and allowing no runs on 1 hit and striking out 9. Aiden Frey went 1-for-1 with an RBI double and 3 walks, as Chance Georgius went 1-for2 with an RBI.
Roland-Story baseball returns to action on Tuesday, as they host the West Marshall Trojans for a Heart of Iowa Conference doubleheader, with first pitch slated for 5:15 PM.
