Webster City- Sunday will be the last time the Class of 2026 of Webster City High School will be together after years in the classroom, athletic events, music and all the things the students have been used to through the years. 116 Seniors will graduate at the 2:00 p.m. ceremony at the all-purpose gym in Webster City. Sunday’s ceremony will feature student speakers, special music and the traditional Pomp and Circumstance. Plans for commencement were reviewed Monday evening by the Webster City school superintendent Matt Berninghaus. Wednesday evening at 6:30 will bring the awards ceremony for the seniors at Prem Sahai Auditorium. Scholarships and awards into the thousands of dollars will be presented during the ceremony. The names of the recipients will be posted Thursday on the KQWC Facebook page and on kqradio.com.
The Webster City Community School Board will begin the search for those wishing to serve on a high school facilities advisory committee. The committee would be responsible for the work on getting ideas for the work on the high school building that has been a part of the community for over 65 years. There have been numerous renovations to classrooms through the years. The most notable was the renovation to Prem Sahai Auditorium over 25 years ago and the multi-purpose gym constructed about 15 years ago. Meetings will be held in the coming months on the project.
