(2A) #8 Wright County boys soccer clinches first-ever NCC Championship over Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, 5-0

BELMOND, Ia. — The Wright County Broncos boys soccer team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Cardinals in North Central Conference action at Belmond-Klemme High School. Wright County entered at 11-0-4 and ranked #8 in Class 2A, as Garner-Hayfield-Ventura entered at 7-4-1.

Wright County managed to scoot a goal across in the opening half on an Anir Akdim 34th minute goal, but defenses ruled otherwise with the Broncos ahead 1-0 at the halftime break.

The 2nd half saw the flood gates open for Wright County, as Ruben Guido struck twice in a 3 minute time frame with a goal in the 64th minute, and again in the 66th minute to put the Broncos up 3-0. Rubelino Coyan would then add a goal in the 75th minute, before Anir Akdim put the finishing touches on things in the 79th minute to cap a 5-0 victory for the Broncos.

Wright County boys soccer returns to action on Thursday, when they host the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Belmond-Klemme High School, beginning at 5:30 PM.
