WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx boys soccer team returned to action on Thursday evening, as they hosted the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Lynx Field in Webster City. Webster City entered with a record of 6-2-2, as Hampton-Dumont-CAL entered at 4-3-4.
It would be a defensive and uneventful first half for both sides, as the score was knotted at 0-0 at the halftime break. The defenses continued to rule for the first portion of the 2nd half, until Webster City finally broke through in the 60th minute, behind a David Villelas goal off an Abisai Ramirez-Carmona assists to put the Lynx ahead 1-0. Webster City’s defense kept HD-CAL off the board the rest of the way in a 1-0 victory.
Webster City boys soccer returns to action on Monday, when they host the Clear Lake Lions for a pivotal North Central Conference match at Lynx Field, with kickoff slated for 5:30 PM.
