Webster City girls soccer routs Hampton-Dumont-CAL, 10-0

HAMPTON, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx girls soccer team returned to action on Thursday night, as they made the trip to Franklin County to take on the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Hampton-Dumont-CAL High School. The Lynx entered with a record of 4-6, while the Bulldogs entered at 2-8.

For the 2nd match in a row, Webster City would pounce on the opposition early, with the Lynx putting up 7 goals in the opening half to lead 7-0 at the halftime break. The Lynx continued their ambush into the 2nd half, putting up 3 more goals to force a mercy rule with a 10-0 victory.

Senior Janey Putney led the way with 4 goals on Thursday, as senior Sandra Fuentes-Cruz had her own hat trick with 3 goals. Goals were also added by seniors Naomi Ortiz, Jayme Perez and Ashlee Nydegger.

Webster City girls soccer returns to action on Monday, when they travel to Clear Lake to take on the Lions at Lions Field in North Central Conference action, with kickoff at 5:30 PM.
