South Hamilton girls track places 4th in West Marshall Co-Ed

STATE CENTER, Ia. — The South Hamilton Hawks girls track and field team returned to action on Thursday, as they made the trip to Marshall County to compete in the West Marshall Co-Ed Invite at West Marshall High School. The Hawks were joined by the host Trojans, as well as Baxter, Colfax-Mingo, Colo-NESCO, East Marshall, Meskwaki Settlement and Lynnville-Sully.

South Hamilton would place 4th with a total of 109 points on Thursday, as the Hawks claimed 2 champions with Izzy Swenson tying for the win in the high jump by clearing a career-best 5′ 1″, as fellow senior Dayton Ferrie won the discus with a throw of 110′ 1″. Tessa Skartvedt placed 2nd in the discus with a throw of 99′ 4.5″, while also placing 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 34′ 8″. The top finish on the track for the Hawks saw senior Brooklyn Doolittle place 3rd in the 100m dash in a time of 13.59 seconds, as the Hawks 4×400 also placed 2nd in a time of 4:38.69 with the team of Gibson-Beaune-Herrick-Trask.
