ELDORA, Ia. — The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys golf team returned to action on Wednesday afternoon, as they made the trip to Hardin County to take on the South Hardin Tigers in a non-conference meet at Pine Lake Country Club.
CGD emerged as the meet winners, shooting a 174 (+30), just 2 strokes ahead of South Hardin. Sophomore Jacob Ruba was the meet medalist by shooting a 41 (+5), while junior Crew Garza placed 3rd and shot a 42 (+6). Senior Tristan Kakacek shot a 42 (+6) and placed 4th, as sophomore Teddy Yackle rounded out scoring by shooting a 49 (+12) and placing 9th.
Other varsity scorers for the Cowboys saw Adam Hodson shoot a 49 (+12), as Preston Gniadecki shot a 51 (+14).
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys golf returns to action on Friday, when they host Humboldt and Algona in a North Central Conference tri meet at Clarmond Country Club, beginning at 4:30 PM.
