Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls golf places 3rd at South Hardin tri meet

ELDORA, Ia. — The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls golf team returned to action on Wednesday, as they made the trip into Hardin County for a tri meet with the South Hardin Tigers and Denver Cyclones at Pine Lake Country Club.

CGD placed 3rd in the meet with a team score of 238 (+94), as junior Blaire Askelsen had the top score, shooting a 55 (+19), as senior Claire Kirstein shot a 56 (+21). Sophomore Jada Weets shot a 62 (+26), as junior Quinn Brooks shot a 65 (+29) to round out scoring.

Other scorers for the Cowgirls saw Tess Wibholm shoot a 67 (+31) as sophomore Avery Fiscus shot an 85 (+49).

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls golf returns to action on Friday, when they travel to Humboldt Country Club to take on Humboldt and Algona in North Central Conference action, beginning at 4:30 PM.
