ALLEMAN, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx and Roland-Story Norsemen boys track and field teams returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the trip down to Polk County to compete in the Comet Boys Invite at North Polk High School. The Lynx and Norsemen were joined by the host Comets, as well as Ankeny, Ballard, Dowling Catholic and Johnston.
Roland-Story placed 2nd in the meet with a total of 102 points, as the Norsemen had a handful of champions on Tuesday. Corbin Lucchesi won the 3200m run in a time of 10:08.26, as Tristan Crabbs followed by winning the 100m dash in a time of 11.18 seconds. Crabbs followed by winning the 200m dash in a time of 22.36 seconds, as Jayden Strum placed 2nd in the 110m high hurdles in a lifetime-best mark of 14.64 seconds, which ties for 4th-fastest in Class 2A this season.

Webster City placed 6th with a total of 68 points and tallied 4 victories on Tuesday, as the Lynx’s sprint medley won in a time of 1:35.12 with the team of Griffith-Hansen-Stroner-Callahan, as Justin Callahan followed by winning the 400m dash in a time of 50.46 seconds. The Lynx then won the distance medley in a time of 3:40.09 with the team of Griffith-Hansen-Stroner-Murillo, before Justin Callahan won the 400m hurdles in a time of 56.49 seconds.
Webster City boys track returns to action on Thursday, when they compete in the Don Howard Invitational at Goeppinger Field in Boone beginning at 4:30 PM. Roland-Story boys track returns to action on Thursday, when they host the Norsemen Boys Relays at Dallas Kray Track beginning at 4:30 PM.
