Webster City-A Fargo,North Dakota accounting firm was named to oversee the Fiscal Year 2026 audit for Van Diest Medical Center. The hospital board Tuesday night voted in favor of the agreement with Eide Bailly LLP to work the local hospital and their audit. The Eide Bailly firm has been responsible with their work on the audit for the past few years.
May will be a special month for the Van Diest Medical Center. The recipients of the Daisy Awards will be recognized next Wednesday,May 6th in a program for the staff in the nursing department for compassionate care from nominations received to the local hospital. The ceremony will be taking place at 1:00 p.m. next Wednesday at Van Diest Medical Center. The month brings the annual observance of National Hospital Week set for May 10th to 16th with the theme being “Healing Happens Here”. The hospital will observe the week for its staff, patients and the community. In the past the Van Diest Medical Center have been involved with community clean ups, meals for staff and other projects. This year, the Van Diest Medical Center will be involved as drivers for the Webster City Meals on Wheels program for a week in May.
Plans for Van Diest Medical Center’s involvement with National EMS Week were announced at Tuesday’s meeting. The observance will be May 17th through 23rd with a social media project informing the work of Van Diest Medical Center’s and Hamilton County’s Emergency Medical Service departments and what they do, how they are funded, and the accomplishments of the emergency ambulance drivers in times of need.
The board also Tuesday night recognized the Van Diest Medical Center volunteers during a reception held last week thanking them for their services be it the gift shop, greeters, or a hospital bedside companion.
