GARNER, Ia. — The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls golf team returned to action on Tuesday afternoon, as they made the trip to Hancock County to take on the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Cardinals in a non-conference meet at Garner Golf and Country Club.
CGD would fall to the Cardinals in the meet, as the Cowgirls would shoot a 237 (+93). The top scorer for CGD was junior Blaire Askelsen, who placed 3rd and shot a 50 (+14), as senior Claire Kirstein placed 7th and shot a 56 (+20). Senior Tess Wibholm would shoot a 63 (+27) and place 9th, as sophomore Jada Weets shot a 68 (+32) and placed 10th.
Other scorers for the Cowgirls saw Quinn Brooks shoot a 73 (+37) and Avery Fiscus shoot an 81 (+45).
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls golf returns to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Eldora to take on South Hardin and Denver in a non-con tri at Pine Lake Country Club, beginning at 1 PM.
