HUMBOLDT, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx girls track and field team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip to Humboldt County to compete in the Humboldt Girls Track Meet at Mason Maach Field. The Lynx were joined by the host Wildcats, as well as Algona, Estherville Lincoln Central, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Pocahontas Area, Southeast Valley and St. Edmond.
Webster City placed 3rd in the meet with 102 points, as the Lynx had a trio of champions, first coming in the sprint medley in a time of 1:56.16 with the team of Hartnett-Weinschenk-Hansen-Grossoehme, as Izzy Grossoehme followed up by winning the 400m dash in a time of 1:04.60. The Lynx wrapped the meet by winning the 4×400 in a time of 4:27.07 with the team of Hansen-Hartnett-Weinschenk-Grossoehme. Grossoehme would also place 2nd in the 200m dash in a time of 27.50 seconds, as the Lynx 4×200 was 2nd in a time of 1:57.84 with the team of Hartnett-Weinschenk-Wright-Hansen.
