Roland-Story girls track places 4th at Saydel Invite

DES MOINES, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norse girls track and field team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip to the Des Moines metro to compete in the Saydel Invitational at Saydel High School. The Norse were joined by the host Eagles, as well as Ankeny Centennial, Bondurant-Farrar, Des Moines North, Des Moines Roosevelt, Indianola and North Polk.

Roland-Story placed 4th with a total of 70 points, as the Norse crowned one champ in the shuttle hurdle, winning in a time of 1:09.44 with the team of Rechkemmer-Lucas-Jondle-Helgeson. Kara Patterson placed 3rd in the 3000m run in a time of 11;49.44, as Taylor Rechkemmer placed 3rd in the 100m hurdles in a time of 17.15 seconds. The Norse 4×800 placed 3rd in 10:49.45 with the team of Lande-Long-Petersen-Larson, as the 4×200 placed 3rd in a time of 1:54.28 with the team of Reitano-Lucas-Lande-Scarrow.

Roland-Story girls track and field returns to action on Tuesday, when they compete in the George Abell Hawkette Relays at Bill Taylor Field in Jewell, beginning at 4:30 PM.
