Roland-Story boys golf downs Clarion-Goldfield-Dows in Goldfield, 168-176

GOLDFIELD, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norsemen and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys golf teams returned to action on Monday, as the two programs faced on another at Oak Ridge Golf Course in Goldfield.

Roland-Story emerged as the meet’s winner, shooting a 168 (+24), as the meet medalist was junior Jake Knoll, who shot a 40 (+4). Fellow junior Tucker Hawkins would also shoot a 40 (+4) and place 2nd, as Hayden Eslick shot a 43 (+7) and tie for 3rd. Junior Ryan Fisher rounded out scoring by placing 7th and shooting a 45 (+9). Other scorers saw Wyatt Ramus shoot a 45 (+9), while Evan Byersdorfer shot a 50 (+14).

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would finish with a 176 (+30), as they had a 3-way tie for the top scorer as Tristan Kakacek, Teddy Yackle and Jacob Ruba all shot a 43 (+7) and placed 3rd. Crew Garza rounded out scoring with a 47 (+11) and placing 9th. Other scorers saw Preston Gniadecki shoot a 50 (+14), while Adam Hodson shot a 51 (+15).

Roland-Story boys golf returns to action on Wednesday, when they compete at the Ram Invitational at The Hill Golf Course in Grand Junction, beginning at 9 AM. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys golf returns to action on Wednesday, when they take on South Hardin at Pine Lake Country Club in Eldora, beginning at 1 PM.
