Webster City- Webster City Public Works will begin the task this (Monday) morning to flush the city ‘s fire hydrants. The work will be each day through Friday starting at approximately 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. weather permitting. The fire hydrant operation today (Monday) will be the area north of Second Street and East of Des Moines Street.The work on Tuesday will be the area South of Second Street, North of Elm Street and East of the Boone River. On Wednesday, the flushing operation will be the area South of Elm Street, and North of Ohio Street. The Thursday work will involve the hydrants from the area south of Ohio Street including South of Highway 20. The last day of the operation will be the area North of Second Street and West of Des Moines Street. Once the work is completed in the area, you are asked to please run an outside water faucet for a few minutes. This will help clear all the sediment or rust from the service line.
