Webster City boys golf dominates NCC tri with Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Hampton-Dumont-CAL

WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys golf teams returned to action on Friday afternoon, as they were joined by Hampton-Dumont-CAL for a North Central Conference tri at the Links Golf Course.

Webster City would dominate the meet by shooting a 150 (+6), winning by 36 strokes. Senior Dawson Bertran was the meet medalist, shooting a 35 (-1), as fellow senior Syrus Willard was runner-up by shooting a 36 (E). Junior Coyce Bertran placed 3rd by shooting a 38 (+2), as senior Matt Tesdahl rounded out scoring by shooting a 41 (+5) and placing 4th. Other scorers for the Lynx saw Dylan Schroeder shoot a 44 (+8) and Gavin Malloy shoot a 45 (+9).

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would place 2nd with a 186 (+42), as senior Tristan Kakacek had the top score by placing 5th and shooting a 43 (+7). Sophomore Jacob Ruba placed 8th and shot a 46 (+10), sophomore Teddy Yackle placed 9th and shot a 47 (+11), as junior Adam Hodson placed 12th and shot a 50 (+14) to round out scoring. Other scorers for the Cowboys saw Preston Gniadecki shoot a 51 (+15), as Spencer Scheffel shot a 52 (+16).

Webster City boys golf returns to action on Thursday, when they host the Lynx 18-Hole Tournament at Briggs Woods Golf Course, beginning at 1 PM.
