Roland-Story and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track compete at Bulldog Invite in Hampton

HAMPTON, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norsemen and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys track and field teams returned to action on Monday night, as they competed in the Bulldog Invitational at Hampton-Dumont-CAL High School. The Norsemen and Cowboys were joined by the host Bulldogs, as well as Ankeny, Aplington-Parkersburg, Belmond-Klemme, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura and South Hardin.

Roland-Story would leave Hampton as the meet champions, winning with 146 points, as the Norsemen tallied a number of winners on Monday. Cody Long would win the long jump with a mark of 20′ 4″, as that was followed up by a win in the shuttle hurdle in a season-best time of 1:04.49 with the team of C. Long-Jonas-B. Long-Strum. Tristen Crabbs would the win the 100m dash in a time of 11.61, into a strong southern wind, before Jayden Strum captured the 110m high hurdle title in a time of 15.47. Corben Lucchesi then won the 800m run in a time of 2:09.79, as that was immediately followed up by Tristen Crabbs winning the 200m dash in a time of 22.89. The final victory of the night came in the 4×100, as the Norsemen won in a time of 45.17 with the team of Crank-Thoreson-Miskell-Triggs.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would place 7th in the meet with 61 points, as the Cowboys did come away with a meet champion in the distance medley, which won in a time of 3:57.57 with the team of Downing-Hernandez Ordonez-Lingenfelter-Torsell. CGD’s Shuttle Hurdle would place 2nd in a time of 1:12.20 with the team of Rivera-H. Lingenfelter-P. Lingenfelter-Duncalf, as the Cowboys 4×100 placed 3rd in a time of 45.99 with the team of Downing-Sesker-Lingenfelter-Hernandez Ordonez. Huxley Lingenfelter would place 4th in the discus with a throw of 142′ 11″.

Roland-Story boys track and field returns to action on Thursday, when they compete in the South Hamilton Hawk Relays in Jewell beginning at 4:30 PM. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track and field returns to action on Tuesday, when they compete in the Belmond-Klemme Boys Invitational, beginning at 4:30 PM.
